Discover Go Get Em Tiger

Walking into Go Get Em Tiger feels like stepping into a well-lived Los Angeles morning. I’ve stopped by the Downtown location at 317 S Broadway, Los Angeles, CA 90013, United States more times than I can count, usually after an early meeting or before wandering through the Historic Core. The room hums with a mix of regulars, laptop campers, and neighbors grabbing breakfast, and it never feels rushed or pretentious. It’s the kind of place where you can stay for ten minutes or two hours and feel equally welcome.

What stands out immediately is how seriously the team takes coffee without making it intimidating. The baristas talk you through beans, roast profiles, and brew methods in plain language, and you can tell they actually drink what they serve. On one visit, I watched a new staff member being trained on espresso calibration, weighing shots and adjusting grind size in real time. That attention to process matters. According to the Specialty Coffee Association, precise extraction and consistency are among the biggest factors in cup quality, and you can taste that care here. The espresso comes through balanced, not bitter, with enough complexity to drink straight but still smooth in a latte.

The menu does more than just coffee, which is why it works so well as a diner-style stop. Breakfast plates lean classic but thoughtful. The breakfast sandwich is a standout, especially when paired with their house-made ketchup. On mornings when I want something lighter, the yogurt and granola hits the spot without feeling like an afterthought. I once overheard a barista explaining how the kitchen preps ingredients early each morning so nothing sits around too long, and that freshness shows up in the food.

What makes this location special compared to other coffee shops is how it fits into the rhythm of Downtown Los Angeles. The large windows let in plenty of light, and the seating encourages conversation. I’ve had casual work meetings here that turned productive simply because the space feels relaxed. Reviews often mention the welcoming staff and reliable quality, and that matches my experience. Even during busy hours, orders come out quickly, and mistakes are handled with an easy apology and a fix, no drama.

There’s also a sense of confidence behind the brand. Go Get Em Tiger was founded by people deeply rooted in the specialty coffee world, and that background shows in small details. Beans are sourced transparently, with an emphasis on ethical relationships with producers, a practice supported by organizations like Fairtrade International and commonly recommended by coffee industry researchers for long-term sustainability. While no café can claim perfection in sourcing, this place is upfront about where its coffee comes from and how it’s roasted, which builds trust.

The Downtown location is part of a wider set of locations across Los Angeles, but it doesn’t feel generic. Each café reflects its neighborhood, and Broadway’s version leans urban and energetic. If you scroll through local reviews, you’ll notice a pattern: people come for the coffee and keep returning for the consistency. One reviewer described it as the kind of café you plan your walk around, and that’s accurate. It becomes a reference point in your day.

Prices sit comfortably in line with other quality coffee spots in the area, and while it’s not the cheapest option on the block, the value is there. Portions are fair, ingredients are solid, and the experience feels intentional. The only limitation worth noting is seating during peak hours; it can get tight, especially mid-morning. Still, that crowd is also proof that the place delivers.

Between the well-executed menu, knowledgeable staff, and its role as a neighborhood anchor, this café earns its reputation the honest way. It doesn’t rely on hype or gimmicks. Instead, it offers good food, excellent coffee, and a space that feels genuinely part of Los Angeles.

  • This is my favorite shop of all time. I’m from NYC & would visit LA frequently during the G & B days to go here. I’ve never had a bad experience here. The coffee is always extracted to perfection. The food options are also good. I’ve never been to a shop other then here that everyone on staff seems to genuinely care about the coffee quality & if you’re enjoying it. I really miss this place and can’t wait to go back.

  • Go Get Em Tiger at Grand Central Market is a standout. The Americano I ordered was simple yet full of flavor—perfectly balanced and smooth. The shop’s aesthetic complements the market’s lively vibe but manages to hold its own with an inviting design. It’s a great spot for a quick, quality coffee in the heart of downtown LA. Highly recommended!

  • Tried the iced Americano at Go Get Em Tiger and it was really interesting — it had a subtle tea-like aftertaste that made it stand out from a typical coffee. Refreshing and unique, definitely something different and worth trying.

  • Go Get Em Tiger at Grand Central Market is all about the coffee, and fortunately, that’s where they shine. It’s one of those rare places where the regular cappuccino—the benchmark test of any real coffee operation—is smooth, perfectly balanced, and consistently well-pulled. The espresso has a rich, nuanced flavor, and the milk is textured just right, never too foamy or flat. Beyond the basics, the menu includes some creative and well-executed options, like their tea with hops, which offers a surprising and refreshing twist. It’s aromatic, slightly bitter, and actually quite satisfying, especially if you’re looking for something a little different but not overly sweet or gimmicky. Their almond macadamia nut latte also deserves a mention—nutty, creamy, and far better than your typical alt-milk drink. The staff is friendly enough, though the vibe is more functional than cozy. The space inside Grand Central Market means there’s a bit of a bustling, transitory feel—it’s not the kind of café you’d hang out at all day, but it does the job if you’re passing through or grabbing a quick drink before wandering downtown. Still, what matters here is that the coffee is excellent, every time. Whether you’re a purist or after something inventive, this spot delivers.

  • Seriously, Go Get Them Tiger serves the World Best Americao, period. Saw the comments from ChatGPT, came to but a coffee , was purely looking for caffeine, but happened to bump into the best taste of coffee ever, can't use any words to describe the rich flavor, you just have to try it by yourself !!!

  • Honestly, I think it’s the best spot inside Grand Central Market. I didn’t get to try their signature menu this time, but the cappuccino I had was hands down the best I’ve had in a while. Run by former barista champions, this place truly lives up to the hype. Even the coffee beans they sell are excellent—no surprise there. Definitely a must-visit if you’re a coffee lover passing through the market.
